Yupo Corporation (Kanda Surugadai, Chiyoda, Tokyo; Masashi Watanabe, President, "Yupo") started a lineup of products for the HP Latex 700/800 printer series of Hewlett Packard Japan (Konan, Minato, Tokyo; Nobuku Okado, President). This offers large printing that contributes to a sustainable society through environmentally-friendly water-based Latex ink provided by HP and reduced plastic use and CO2 emissions through the YUPO Back Light grade BLRG 150 and ULTRAYUPO FEBG 130.

When printing on YUPO using a conventional HP Latex-compatible printer of generation three or earlier, you needed to use a YUPO coated with ink receptors as the printer paper to maintain the water resistance and abrasion resistance. On the other hand, the HP Latex 700/800 printer series fourth-generation (released in February 2021) has been confirmed to have sufficient water resistance and abrasion resistance, even with YUPO that doesn't have a coating layer. Therefore, we have created a product lineup for wide format printer as two types, the YUPO Back Light grade BLRG 150 and ULTRAYUPO FEBG 130.
In terms of environmental aspects, both products are the YUPO Back Light grade BLRG 150 and ULTRAYUPO FEBG 130 that including biomass resin. In addition, the YUPO GREEN Back Light grade BLRG 150 yields large-scale reductions in the amount of plastic used and the amount of CO2 emissions thanks to a weight lighter than the general PET material film used widely throughout the wide format printing market.
In terms of cost, the fourth-generation HP Latex ink has a thinner ink film than UV ink, allowing the ink to dry at low temperatures. This yields sharp decreases in the thickness of the printer paper, from the 200 µm needed in many UV printers to 130 µm, and also makes it possible to use the paper with non-coated products. This helps cut customer costs.
About HP Latex ink
It was released in 2008. It is characterized by being a water-based ink that has reduced burden on the environment and the human body, with high resistance and unaffected printing quality.
As customer companies need to be able to provide their customers with environmentally-friendly products and services, we provide sustainable wide format printing with the environmental friendliness of the HP Latex 700/800 printer series with fourth-generation Latex ink and with a reduced burden on the environment thanks to the print media provided by Yupo.
