Synthetic paper YUPO supports on-demand printing on Ricoh production printers

Yupo Corporation (President and CEO: Hideyuki Fujiwara; Headquarters: Kanda-surugadai, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) now supports on-demand printing on synthetic printer YUPO production printers, which was not possible before. This applies to production printers manufactured by The Ricoh Company, Ltd. in Japan and the service will start in mid-May 2018.
Yupo Corporation cooperated with RICOH JAPAN Corp., a domestic sales company of The Ricoh Company Ltd. (Representative: President and CEO Tomohiro Sakamoto; Headquarters: Shiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter Ricoh Japan) to make "YPI" YUPO for digital printing with high toner adhesion compatible with its production printers. The paper setting conditions have been established.
There has been a high demand for on-demand printing of synthetic paper YUPO and this will be the first time in Japan and worldwide that it has become available. This initiative aims to meet the needs of the printing industry, which requires "high variety, small lots, and short delivery times," and in particular, the range of support for POPs, posters, menus, etc., which have high on-demand needs, will be expanded. As a result, the initiative is expected to boost the on-demand business of printing companies.
In addition, production printers manufactured by The Ricoh Company, Ltd. installed in corporate offices for production departments will be able to support synthetic paper YUPO. This will mean that "durable, water-resistant products, and promotional materials" will be able to be easily made without the need for laminating work to protect the printed materials.
Synthetic paper YUPO, the most widely used product in the synthetic paper industry in Japan, is now the world's first product to be compatible with production printers, meaning that Yupo Corporation can meet the needs of its customers more than ever before.
