YUPO® and ALPHAYUPO®
QJJ grade conform with the containers and packaging
for foods (alcohol, fats and other general foods), excluding
acidic foods with a pH of 5 and below, as described
in the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare Announcement
No. 370 (1959). |

However, the manufacturing process we use does not
conform to HACCP or the food safety standards specified
in the Japanese food safety law, so when using YUPO®
for food containers and packaging, implement safety
measures in the printing and processing stages. |

"Containers and packaging" refers to items
containing food or used to wrap food, in which food
is transferred to the container or packaging as is (Article
4-5 of the Japanese food safety law). |

"Apparatuses" refers to items used for drink
and food utensils, cooking apparatuses and removing
food, as well as items used in manufacturing, processing,
preparing, storing, transporting, displaying, receiving
or ingesting food, and items that come into direct contact
with food (Article 4-4 of the Japanese food safety law). |

YUPO® is a synthetic paper with virtually
no odor. |

YUPO® materials that have undergone
oil-base offset printing using ink for YUPO®
have a pungent odor, which is the odor of the ink. |

For applications in which odor would become an issue,
laminate the printing surface with PP or PET. |

YUPO® and ALPHAYUPO®
may have a bitter taste when licked depending on the
person. This is the bitterness of the agents used in
treating the surface of YUPO®, but as
mentioned above, it is safe for the human body. |

etc., laminate YUPO® with a film. |
