In-mold/YUPO® for in-mold
The in-mold process involves simultaneously molding a label when manufacturing a container. YUPO® is highly durable and has outstanding printability, and is a recyclable material for in-mold labels for containers that assimilates these merits.
Characteristics

  • Ideal for polypropylene and polyethylene (HD and LLD) containers. The labels do not need to be bonded and can be reproduced at once.
  • Provides sharp and high-definition printing. Both gravure and offset printing are possible.
  • Almost no deformation after molding. Good for stacking since it finishes beautifully.
  • Labels adhere to the entire surface, and there is no protrusions at the edges, so labels are not prone to peeling off.
  • Outstanding in saving labor and cost due to a lack of need for embellishment after molding.
  • Container strength is increased by labeling, enabling the coating weight to be reduced.
  • Improves appearance by integrating with the bottle.
  • Can be recycled with the bottle.

Recommended inks

In-mold labels have high performance requirements, such as water resistance and resistance to contents, so please consult with each ink manufacturer in compliance with your application.

Printing
The backside of ITE105, IDS80/100 and IHC75 is a heat-sealed layer, and is prone to static, so it is necessary to take sufficient measures to eliminate the build-up of static electricity.
Static electricity control measures: control humidity, use electricity removal equipment, etc.
Although these grades have a track record in UV offset, UV Letterpress, gravure (flexo), etc., please contact us for details.
Application examples

  • In-mold labels for blow molded containers using PP, HDPE and LDPE
  • In-mold labels for injection-molded caps and containers using PP, LLDPE and LDPE
