| The YUPO® name |
 |
| The idea for the name "YUPO®" came from
an employee's idea to use the initial "P"
from "Paper" to unite the "YU"
from Mitsubishi Petrochemical (Mitsubishi Yuka
in Japanese, now Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation)
with the "O" from Oji Paper Company. |

| The logo |
 |
| The orange disc symbolizes the sun, while the
black circle expresses the cosmos. The representation
of each of these as an artist's sketch conveys
a generous and human optimism, while simultaneously
evoking sentiments of individuality and creativity,
and reinforcing the natural sensibilities of suppleness
and grace that embody Yupo Corporation vision. The image
of the two circles in harmony is a constant reminder
that YUPO® exists alongside humanity, the earth
and the cosmos, working together with them as
one. |
